Get your Groove on

Microsoft Office 2007 comes packaged with Groove. It’s a collaboration software that provides a shared filesystem, discussion board and chat client (along with some other less useful goodies). One of the best things about it is that you can use it offline and then synchronise when you are back online.

I’m currently co-ordinating a team that is based out of 3 locations and finding it very useful. Integration with Outlook is one thing I’m missing. Also I have not had a chance to see how it copes with simultanious updates on the same document.

I know Google Wave is an alternative but I have not tried it yet.
